Management Team

Ben has made a career around building highly reliable internet-scale applications. Prior to founding Thumbtack in 2003 he was VP of Operations Technology at GiftCertificates.com, where he built the back-office and e-commerce architectures needed to support millions of digital and physical transactions per day. During his tenure he became acutely aware of the need for outsourced labor that could both understand core business concerns and drive high-quality and robust software infrastructure projects. His inability to find such a partner led him to establish Thumbtack.

Ben holds a BS in Mathematics from the University of Chicago and a MBA from Boston University.

Dmitry formerly ran the computing center at Omsk State University in Russia, where he was surprised by the number of top engineers graduating with limited prospects in Siberia. He brought several former top students and faculty to start the Omsk branch of Thumbtack, and continues to leverage his engineering connections to bring the best and brightest to the team.

Dmitry holds a BS in Physics from Omsk State University.

Mark has over 20 years of success selling solutions for early stage and start-up companies. Most recently he was responsible for nationally selling end-user experience solutions to major financial firms across the U.S. Mark has been a V.P. of sales for multiple companies, including Softport Systems, a NYC based software consulting firm. While residing in Japan during a recession, Mark made notable growth for renowned companies such as AT&T, Nortel, BMW, and Honda.

Mark attended the State University of New York at Binghamton (SUNY) School of Management. He also studied International Relations and Business at Kansai Gaidai University of Foreign Studies in Osaka, Japan.

Andrew has worked in IT for 15 years as a programmer and software manager. As Thumbtack's Director of Software Operations he is responsible for defining and maintaining processes and institutionalizing software best practices throughout the organization. Prior to joining Thumbtack he participated in a number of complex, multi-platform, highly reliable IT solutions for large companies such as Boeing. His diverse experience includes CAD/CAM software development, middleware product development, and warehouse logistics and optimization.

Andrew holds Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and Technology from Omsk State Technical University.
